Flying Masster, “Mustard”
Bio: Mustard is a Florida bred gelding who came off Finger Lakes Race Track in December 2014. He sold for $8,000 at the Keeneland September 2010 sale (HIP# 3876) as a yearling. Mustard started racing as a two year old and made $89,228 from 29 starts – 4 firsts, 6 seconds and 4 thirds. He came off the track a registered ridgling and went to Cornell for a gelding procedure with his previous owner on January 14, 2015. At that time it was found that Mustard had previously been gelded but only had one testicle removed; he probably only had one descended at that time and whoever doing the procedure was not able to find the undescended testicle. Mustard is now officially a gelding and has recovered from his procedure. He has six half siblings.
Mustard came into our care after his previous owner decided to sell him. He was sold locally and was then up for sale in less than a week. Mustard arrived to our facility on April 29, 2015. He has since gained weight and is now barefoot with correct angles. Mustard was entered into the 2015 Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover held in Lexington, KY in October, but did not attend because he was adopted.
Mustard was adopted on October 1, 2015.
Tracks Attended: Finger Lakes, Penn National, Parx Racing, Laurel Park, Aqueduct, Gulfstream Park and Calder.
