Tale of the Heart (KY) – TB, B, G, foaled April 6, 2010 by Tale of the Cat out of Dancing Josefina (by Belong to Me). Tale of the Heart (Edgar) was donated by his racing connections, Sheila-Matt Stables and Newman Racing.  Edgar required three months rest because of a minor suspensory injury.   Edgar will be competing in the 2017 Thoroughbred Makeover with our board member, Skye.  We would like to dedicate this journey in the memory of Mathew Newman, who passed away December 22 of 2016.
“Mathew Newman, beloved father, visionary, coach, friend, and husband, passed away peacefully after a brave two and a half year battle with ALS at his home in Alpharetta on Thursday, the 22nd of December 2016. Mathew Newman was born in New York to parents Donald and Sarah Newman. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Adelphi University. Matt is survived by his wife, Susan Newman; his two sons, John and Jacob Newman; mother, Sarah Newman; sister, Rebecca Newman; two brothers; Adam and Richard Newman; nephew, Joshua Newman; niece, Sarah Newman; and sister in law, Regina Newman. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Matilda Benalt and Harriet Newman and beloved father, Donald Newman. Matt was a blessing to everyone who knew him. He was an extremely active member in his local community. Matt was a highly respected and an adored soccer coach, and eventually rose to a director position at United Futbol Academy. He knew just how to get the best out of every player, and his coaching mantra and attitude reverberated through all. Matt was also a profoundly gifted investor and unbelievable with mental calculations. Also, he was a very successful race horse stable owner, garnishing stake race wins in Miami and New York under Sheila-Matt stables and Newman Racing, Respectively. Lastly, he loved attending Shabbat Services at the Dor Tamid Reform Synagogue. Matt cherished his religion and has passed this passion down to his sons. ”
