We were contacted by a rescue group regarding Tamdaya being owned by a local dealer. The breeder was contacted and agreed to bail her and pay for quarantine, but she needed a place to go. We stepped up to take on Tamadaya. We found out exactly what happened since she left the track and suffice it to say, after not being able to hold a foal, she was sold to a very novice horse owner for $150. He did the best he could, but when she kicked him and broke his leg (he doesn’t blame Tamdaya), he knew he had to rehome her. He did his due diligence and thought he was giving her to a local rescue, but it turned out he gave her to a former employee of the rescue. The girl kept Tamdaya for six months, but did not bond with her and after asking 2 rescues to take her in (they were full), she sold her to the dealer. Her feet were severely neglected, but we already had a farrier see her. After quarantine, she will be entering training for 30 days and be available for adoption after that.
