Good and Grateful, “Billy”
Bio: Billy is a handsome Kentucky bred OTTB gelding who retired from Finger Lakes Race Track on December 1, 2014. His last race was July 11, 2014 and he then changed trainers and was vets listed due to a sore knee. As the end of the 2014 meet approached, his new trainer considered taking him to Ohio to continue racing, but then changed his mind and Billy had no where to go, so we took him in.
Billy was sold for $25,000 as a yearling at the Keeneland September 2010 sale (Hip #1028). He then went on to start racing as a two year old and made $10,372 from 18 starts, 2 seconds and 5 thirds. Billy is Breeders’ Cup nominated and has six half siblings and two full siblings.
Billy was adopted in May of 2015, unfortunately his adopter decided to sell him to Arlow Kiehl (a notorious horse dealer) instead of honoring our contract. We were contacted by Mindy Lovell who let us know Billy was now owned by Bruce Rotz. We were able to make contact with Rotz and purchase Billy back for 1,000. He is currently in Spring Run, PA, having completed quarantine in November. He is now up-to-date with shots, coggins, farrier and teeth, and was recently flexed by a vet. He had his evaluation ride on 01/02/2017, which he passed with flying colors, he is suitable for any discipline including jumping. He does have an old bump on his knee, which was x-rayed, and can be viewed by a serious adopter’s vet.
