Schmulley, “Scooter”
Bio: Schmulley, “Scooter,” is a 2012 NY bred gelding. He is unraced and was found as a starved yearling at Unadilla Livestock Auction in NY. A local family purchased him for $40, had him gelded and nursed him back to health. They realized that they weren’t knowledgeable enough to break him and put him up for sale on Craigslist. He was purchased and brought to SCT on June 26, 2015. He was then entered into the Home For Every Horse Equine Comeback Challenge and competed at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in August 2015. Scooter placed 7th out of the 8 thoroughbreds in the challenge, but was a perfect gentleman the whole time and had a positive experience showing off what he had learned. He was the youngest thoroughbred in the challenge and the only one without prior race training. Scooter is currently being ridden W/T/C by a variety of riders. He is a quiet ride and would make a great mount for a junior with a trainer. He is a true pony, standing at 14.2 hands currently. Scooter has six half siblings.
