Royal Apollo

Royal Apollo, “Apollo”

Bio: Apollo is a young, Florida bred OTTB gelding who retired from Finger Lakes Race Track on December 1, 2014. Apollo began his racing career at age two and had 32 lifetime starts, two firsts, two seconds and two thirds for $30,999 in earnings. His last race was on July 17, 2014 at Finger Lakes and his lapse in training was said to be because after moving to NY from Florida, his feet were in poor shape and were unable to hold shoes. Around November, his hooves had finally grown enough but with little time left in the race meet, he wouldn’t be able to start and his owner didn’t want to pay to winter him. He has nine half siblings.

Apollo has an awesome, laid-back personality. He is a treat hound and loves attention. While listed as a dark brown/dark bay, he is almost truly black. Apollo has been started under saddle and is proving to be very level-headed. He is currently available for adoption with hunter and dressage prospect.

Tracks Attended: Finger Lakes, Presque Isle Downs, Tampa Bay, Gulfstream Park and Calder.
