Holly Time, “Holly”
Bio: A true warhorse, Holly retired from Finger Lakes in November 2011. A Canadian bred, Holly went through the Keeneland November 2003 Breeding Stock Sale and sold for $21,000 (Hip #1797). He then ran through the July Fasig-Tipton Kentucky 2004 Select Yearling Sale and sold for $80,000 (Hip #451) to the infamous Richard Dutrow. Breeders’ Cup Nominated, Holly started racing as a 2 year old and ran 42 times, earning $206,240 with 9 firsts, 8 seconds and 9 thirds. Holly has nine half siblings. He was enjoying the leisurely life as a walk trot pony with his new owner after being placed on September 30, 2012. On September 5, 2014, Holly crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully. He was humanely euthanized due to chronic lameness stemming from the infirmities of racing. He had a belly filled with lush grass and many treats and will be forever remembered as the sweet boy he was.
