Diplomatic Immunty, “Elly”
Bio: Elly is an adorable grey Florida bred filly. She was listed on Craigslist after being sent to a layup farm in Pennsylvania and abandoned by her previous owner. Her Craigslist ad garnered a lot of interest but the few people who met Elly in person passed on her due to a knee injury. Elly started racing as a two year old and was claimed in May 2013 for $15,000. She ran 9 times with a 2-1-2, win-place-show record and earned $33,851 before being sent to the layup farm in PA. She has one full sibling named Bad News Captain.
Elly arrived at our facility late at night on December 23, 2013. She had some minor heat in her right front knee and was somewhat pigeon-toed with long hooves. She had a trim from our farrier shortly after her arrival and Cornell was out to x-ray her right knee on January 14, 2014. Elly was diagnosed with severe middle carpal osteoarthritis. Elly was taken to Cornell University on August 27, 2014 for a full performance evaluation at which time her knee was injected and she was started on Pentosan. Elly was placed into her forever home on November 16, 2014 where she will be doted over for years to come!
