Fish Hooks

Fish Hooks, “Felix”

Bio: Felix is a young, NY bred OTTB gelding who retired from Finger Lakes Race Track on Monday, December 1, 2014. He started racing as a two year old and last raced on July 1, 2014, his 42nd lifetime start. Felix earned $48,792 from 3 firsts, 4 seconds and 4 thirds. He has six half siblings. His last race was on July 1, 2014 and afterwards he was never sound enough to start again. Felix was considered urgent at the end of the 2014 race meet at Finger Lakes and was free with nowhere to go. We stepped up for him as we were worried what might happen if a home wasn’t found. Felix made a pitstop at a nearby stable before coming to our facility.

Upon arrival, Felix was lame. He was treated to good food and turnout. On January 8, 2015, he was seen by our vets and was x-rayed. He flexed sound and nothing was found on x-ray, and Felix was cleared for light riding. Although a weaver (bobber) in his stall, he is a nice ride. Felix will most likely never be used for jumping but should make a nice trail prospect.

Tracks Attended: Finger Lakes and Aqueduct.
